Photography & Inspiration

I want to create a surrealistic dream-like representation for my final digital art works. After viewing August Bradley's photography I was inspired to take photos which initially began with a surrealistic atmosphere and tell a story to the viewer.

August Bradley -

I asked my friend, Stevie to be the model for my photo shoot and chose to use a near-by park as the location, where I had once came across this dark, intertwined and eerie tree.
Here is one image taken from the shoot, which I have edited in various ways using Photoshop.

After editing these shots I thought about how I could incorporate them into one work as I really liked the different effects and the old fashioned, haunting look which each captured. I experimented using Windows Movie Maker and put them together to create this short picture.

I want to create a longer and more in depth movie like this for one of my final works. I am also planning on creating a sonic soundscape to incorporate with this work to create visual and audible digital art.

Week 6 - Corel Painter

Today we looked at the Corel Painter program. I basically just experimented with the program to see what I could do, however it did crash about 4 times! Here is a test work I made by experimenting with various brushes, charcoal, watercolour, conte, palette knives and many more. I also used a few different effects including pop art and lighting effects. I really like the different choices of brushes offered in this program and how realistically they can look.
